In the aftermath of the recent terrorist attack, the Jewish Representative council of Greater Manchester & Region has been working tirelessly to represent and support our community.
Over the past 36 hours, we have engaged with the world’s media and spoken directly with senior politicians, including the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime minister and the Home Secretary, to ensure that the voices and concerns of our community are heard at the highest levels.
alongside Manchester City Council and the Greater Manchester combined Authority we arranged a communal vigil where we were joined by the Chief Constable, Deputy prime Minister, Leader of Manchester council, Metro Mayor of Greater Manchester and our own Chair, Mark Adlestone. Also in attendance were dozens of MPs, Council Leaders and civic dignitaries. Their presence and words of solidarity were deeply meaningful at this difficult time.
We remain committed to standing together with the wider Greater Manchester community, united against hate and committed to peace, safety and resilience. Our message remains the same, we now need action and not words.
