The JRC and The Jewish Leadership Council were delighted to host an In conversation event with Jeff Smith MP at Shaare Hayim synagogue in his constituency, chaired by JRC Chair, Mark Adlestone.

The discussion explored Jeff’s early life growing up in the constituency he now represents, his journey before entering Westminster, the importance of education in combating prejudice, strengthening dialogue between communities, the rise and need to tackle antisemitism across society, the conflict in the Middle East, impact of social media and the aftermath of the terrorist attacks in Heaton Park and Golders Green.

It was a thoughtful and engaging conversation on some of the most important issues facing our community, with valuable contributions from attendees during the Q&A.
