It was a pleasure for JRC Chief Executive, Marc Levy to speak alongside Rabbi Danny Bergson, Rabbi Kath Vardi, Rabbi Warren Elf and Susie Gordon, Chief Executive of the Leeds Jewish Representative Council at a Council of Christians and Jews (CCJ) seminar in Manchester, bringing together young Christian leaders and theologians from across Europe.
Our discussion explored the British Jewish community, the challenges facing Jews across the UK and Europe, the importance of meaningful and non performative interfaith engagement, and how faith leaders can better support Jewish communities in the cities where they live.
It was encouraging to spend time with a group genuinely committed to listening, asking thoughtful questions and engaging with different perspectives. Honest conversations, even on difficult issues, are essential to building trust and ensuring that relationships between our communities continue to grow stronger.
