In Sept 2024, Rabbi Danny Bergson joined the Jewish Representative Council as Community Stakeholder and Engagement Manager.
In this newly formed role Danny works alongside CEO Mark Levy ensuring that communal stakeholders are aware of the work being conducted at the JRC and is a port of contact for any communal concerns as well as communal initiatives which the JRC can support and be of benefit to the overall community.
Danny is leading the roundtables for SEND and Mental Health Stakeholders as well as liaising and advocating with local authorities and VCSE’s in the Greater Manchester Region. This enables the JRC to effectively signpost organisations to our related stakeholders.
In his representative role he attends civic and interfaith events ensuring that we also develop positive links and relationships locally.
Danny is also taking an active role in the Northwest region beyond Greater Manchester covered by JRC (including Stoke-on Trent, Preston, St Annes and Lancaster). The focus is ensuring communities and small Jewish groups are supported to be able express and develop positive Jewish identities.
Danny has been the Rabbi of St Annes Hebrew Congregation since 2018.
