Bob Vylan

Further to our previous update, we again contacted the Victoria Warehouse requesting an urgent update regarding whether the concert will go ahead.  It is our view that this is now untenable given the police investigation, the cancellation of US visas and the fact that they have been dropped by their management.

We commend the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, Lisa Nandy MP for her unequivocal condemnation of Bob Vylan during an Urgent Question in the House of Commons. thank you to those MPs who attended and called out the abject failure of Glastonbury for not heeding the numerous warnings that ultimately let overt antisemitism prominently take place on one of their stages.

In addition, the BBC are rightly being criticised for platforming an artist given the most basic due diligence would have highlighted an extensive risk of obscene and racist comments. The fact the transmission was no immediately cut when this took place is an unforgiveable error in judgement.

Our initial statement has been covered by media locally, nationally and internationally. Alongside Raphi Bloom, our CEO has spoken to BBC, ITV, LBC, Capital and Heart demanding that the concerts are cancelled. In Westminster, we have been speaking with sympathetic MPs and key decision makers, including in Number 10 Downing Street asking that pressure is brought on all venues looking to host this artist. We commend those including the Prime Minister who have been vocal in calling out the failings of Glastonbury and the BBC. In addition, we have been in touch with local government who are aware and receptive to our concerns.

As the week progresses, we will be continuing to press all key stakeho9lders and commenting on the media demanding that the Victoria Warehouse and the venue operators Academy Music Group refuse to allow this artist the opportunity to incite and spread hate in our city.
