The Jewish Representative Council of Greater Manchester and the Regions is saddened by the news of recent criminal damage of tombstones at Blackley and Failsworth Jewish cemeteries.

We know that, previously, our friends from other communities have expressed their horror at such actions. Whether an act of vandalism or antisemitism, to desecrate the graves or our ancestors is a vile act and we hope that those responsible are caught and forced to face up to what they have done and will make suitable reparations.
