Flexible Testing Provision Over Jewish Holy Days

In recognition that Jewish residents will not be able to call or go online to book a test on 19th and 20th September, further testing capacity has been arranged for next week.

In addition to existing walk through sites outlined below, there will be mobile testing units available at the locations and dates below:

Monday 21st SeptemberSalford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5AW
Tuesday 22nd September  – Thursday 24th SeptemberSalford Broughton Hub, 50 Rigby Street, Salford, M7 4BQ

You must book an appointment to be tested at these units.  Appointments are made via the national Government site: https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test – Call 119 for information and to access this service if you have problems using the internet or for advice for tests for children aged under 3.

The mobile units are in addition to existing walk-through testing sites in the Borough which are currently based at

  • The Mosses Centre (Cecil Street, Bury, BL9 0SB)
  • Chesham Fold (95 Chesham Fold Road, Bury, BL9 6JZ).

These centres are open 10am-3pm Mon-Fri. You don’t need to book for the walk through centres but please follow the guidance at https://www.bury.gov.uk/coronavirus-testing or call 0161 253 5515.

We are also looking at the remainder of the High Holy Days and will supply more information as it becomes available.

Only seek a test if you have coronavirus symptoms (a high temperature; a new, continuous cough; or a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste) or have been asked to get tested. This will help make sure people who need a test can get one. Testing should take place in the first five days of having symptoms.
