Giant Yellow Ribbon Protest at BBC Salford

it is clear that the BBC has lost all credibility to impartially report on the current Middle East conflict.  The Jewish community and supporters of the State of Israel have for decades raised concerns about how news from the region was being presented.

This has now come to the public’s consciousness following their one sided narrative post October 7th 2023.  Since that date, the BBC have seemingly deliberately skewed headlines, parroted the propaganda of an internationally proscribed terrorist organisation, compared terrified hostages seized at gunpoint to convicted terrorists with blood on their hands whilst providing unashamedly biased commentary with little nuance to deal with an extremely complex situation.

We are appalled that the BBC saw fit to air, ‘Gaza,: How to Survive a War Zone.’  There has been an astonishing lack of due diligence as the child of a senior Hamas Minister narrated the documentary.  Other extremist elements have been covered up or dismissed.  The programmed has now been removed from the BBC streaming service although the damage was done when it was initially allowed to be shown.

in Manchester, we have had enough.  Thank you to the team at north West Friends of Israel for arranging a giant yellow ribbon outside the BBC in Salford Quays to protest their coverage.  The yellow ribbon is the international symbol designed to highlight the plight of those still held hostage within Gaza.

We call on Government to hold the leadership of the BBC News to account.  It is imperative that the organisation urgently recognises their immense shortcomings and provide a clear and definitive plan as to how they can recover their destroyed reputation.
