We are grateful to Cllr Mark Roberts, Leader of Stockport Council and Michael Cullen, Chief Executive, as well as Cllr Tom Ross, Leader of Trafford Council and Sara Todd, Chief Executive for taking the time to meet with JRC Chief Executive, Marc Levy.

We had an important and constructive discussion about the aftermath of the Heaton Park terrorist attack, the very real concerns being felt within the Jewish community across Greater Manchester and the urgent need to address the challenges in the community cohesion space.

There was clear recognition of the responsibility we share to ensure communities feel safe, heard and supported – and to stand firmly against hatred and antisemitism in all its forms.

We also spoke about the importance of highlighting the positive and longstanding contribution of the Jewish community to the life of our region.
