“Throughout 2024, Jewish communities across Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Cheshire have once again been subjected to huge numbers of antisemitic incidents.  The Community Security Trust has reported 533 incidents across the region, the second highest number on record.  The fact antisemitism is being reported right across society and in all walks of life is particularly alarming.

It is around 16 months since Hamas committed unspeakable atrocities on 7th October 2023.  This triggered an unprecedented surge in hate crime targeting Jewish people and our experience is that individuals are continually looking to import the conflict onto our streets.  We call on all people to reject this pernicious racism an show solidarity with the Jewish community during this challenging time.”
