The JRC issued the following press release with regard to the scheduling of Kneecap as support act to Fontaines DC playing in Wythenshawe Park on 15/16 August:

“It is clearly inappropriate for any festival to platform a band who are currently facing terrorism charges and have openly called for the murder of MPs.

We echo the words of the Prime Minister and politicians from across the political spectrum to call on organiser to ensure they are excluded from spreading a message of hate to tens of thousands of people.

The consequences of the concerts going ahead will clearly lead to incitement and has the potential to damage community cohesion across Greater Manchester.”
