Raphi Bloom is the Director of Fundraising, Marketing and Communications at The Fed, the largest Jewish social care charity in Greater Manchester. The Fed supports more than 6,500 people each year, reaching one in seven Jewish homes across the region, and provides a wide range of complex social care services, alongside residential and supported living provision for 120 residents and tenants at Heathlands Village Care Home.
In his role, Raphi has strategic and operational responsibility for £2.5 million in annual fundraising, encompassing major and mid‑level donor engagement, large‑scale fundraising events, corporate partnerships, and all marketing and communications activity.
Raphi is also the Director of The Fed’s My Voice Holocaust Survivor Storyteller Project, a nationally recognised initiative preserving and sharing the life stories of Holocaust Survivors who rebuilt their lives in the UK. My Voice has published over 60 full survivor life stories and delivers extensive educational work with schools, football clubs, local authorities and faith groups. Through Survivor testimony and bespoke educational resources, the project promotes values of kindness, tolerance, resilience and social responsibility, ensuring these lessons continue to reach new generations. He leads a multidisciplinary team across fundraising, marketing and the My Voice project, managing 14 colleagues in total.
Alongside his professional role, Raphi holds voluntary leadership positions within the Jewish community. He is a trustee of the Jewish Leadership Council (JLC) which represents the largest Jewish organisations in the UK, including synagogues, care organisations, education charities and regional representative councils. The JLC’s mission is to lead in building and sustaining a thriving Jewish community in the UK, together with partners. He is also a founder and current Co‑Chair of North West Friends of Israel (NWFOI), established in 2014 and now one of the UK’s largest pro‑Israel grassroots organisations. NWFOI campaigns to advocate for Israel, challenge antisemitism and counter the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement.
In all of his voluntary roles, including the JRC, Raphi regularly appears on national and local television and radio to comment on Israel and antisemitism in the UK. He also regularly delivers Holocaust education sessions to schools and professional football clubs. Raphi is married to Adele and they have 5 children and 4 grandchildren.
