Lisa and Antony Davis told the story of 10 British POW’s who saved the life of Sara Hannah Rigler, a young Jewish girl who was on a death march. Anthony, a PI, helped find five soldiers who had not yet been recognised as Righteous Among the Nations for their role in saving her life at tremendous risk to their own safety.
A speech was made by Rabbi Dovid Lewis of Bowdon Shul and the event was attend by Rabbis Ellituv and Binstock.
Local secondary schools made presentations, including a moving drama by Wellington School about Irena Sendler and stories from pupils of both Wellington School and Lostock Community College.
The Greater Manchester Police Male Voice Choir, Springfield Primary School and Chazan Michael Isdale provided the musical input.
