Our Chief Executive spoke at a plaque commemoration to mark the first synagogue in Manchester. The JRC is proud of the immense contribution made by the Jewish community over many generations to the City of Manchester. We offer our gratitude to Cllr Sam Wheeler and Manchester City Council.
Our Chair, Mark Adlestone OBE DL, joined civic and religious leaders at Manchester Cathedral for the Remembering Srebrenica commemoration. The JRC stand in soliarity with all communities in promoting tolerance and challenging hatred.
Our Chair and Chief Executive visited the Rabbi and members of the St Annes Hebrew Congregation. So pleased to hear that the Shul is continuing to thrive with well attended Shabbat services and a number of social events for the whole community.
We were delighted to join the team and players and Christian Wakeford MP to kick off the 24 hour football challenge. Thank you to everyone involved in organising this wonderful event to raise money for a new pitch.
Our Chief Executive joined communal colleagues, MPs and Peers at the JLC House of Commons Reception. Fantastic to hear from Nicola Richards MP, Richard Harrington and JLC Chair, Keith Black. Great to be in the room with so many dedicated communal professionals.
We were delighted to be invited to join staff, pupils and community at the Langdon Garden Party. A plaque was unveiled to mark the greenhouses and gardens donated by the Nathan Laski Trust.
Our Chief Executive was delighted to join Bowdon Shul at their Business Breakfast, where a big crowd heard from Sir Graham Brady MP, the Chair of the 1922 Committee.
The JRC, The Nicky and Manchester Maccabi organised a North Manchester community Beacon Lighting to celebrate HM the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The beacon was lit at Manchester Maccabi. The Jewish community of Greater Manchester thank Her Majesty for her 70 years of dedicated service.
